The standard connectors in accordance with the MIL-DTL-5015, MIL-DTL-26482 and VG95234 standards use insulating materials, gaskets and sealing o-rings made with materials that guarantee performance up to temperatures of 70-80°C, above which are reduced.
In general we can consider a reduction in performance of 40% above a temperature of 80°C.
However, the most important aspect concerns the life of the product, which is significantly reduced in the case of environmental temperatures above 100°C, prematurely aging the insulators and reducing their efficiency and reliability, in products that are normally used precisely for these characteristics.
For applications that require it, different insulating materials are available, which guarantee performance and durability at high temperatures:
- SILICONE for operating temperatures up to 150°C (SCKM - SCKB - SCKP Series)
- PEEK for operating temperatures up to 250°C, with radiation resistance characteristics (CKMT - CKBT - CKPT Series)
